Alpine Ranch is a family operation in Nevada, ranching and farming there for more than 50 years. It runs as a co-op: alongside its own beef it carries meat, honey and raw pet food from other Nevada ranchers and farmers who meet its standard. The aim the family states for the program is a plain one, to keep improving and promoting grass fed beef, and it works with other ranches and farms raising grass fed and grass finished cattle that qualify.
The qualifying criteria are published and are the same for every animal in the program: grass fed and grass finished, no grains or grain by-products, no growth hormones, and no growth promoting antibiotics. The beef is dry aged. When a customer buys a beef share they own the animal, and it is processed in their name. The lamb is grass fed and grass finished and raised in Smith Valley, and the heritage Berkshire pigs are raised outdoors at the family's own Land of Hopes Farm in Washoe Valley on an all natural vegetarian diet.
There is no store front. Customers pre-order, then collect at one of five delivery locations: Reno, Carson City and Las Vegas in Nevada, and Roseville and Auburn in California, on dates the ranch posts ahead of each run.

Where the ranch is.
Washoe Valley, Nevada. No street address is published for any producer on this site, because none was published by the ranches and none was collected. The marker is the town.
Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, or select a state. With the map focused, the arrow keys pan and the plus and minus keys zoom. Every state outline and every ranch marker is reachable by keyboard, and every ranch on the map is also in the list below, so no producer is reachable only through the map. A member's marker is that ranch's membership badge, drawn larger at the higher levels. A free Registered Producer is a black dot on its own state, and an unclaimed Unregistered Producer record is a gray dot, which opens an invitation to the owner to claim the profile rather than a page.
