Terms of service.
Using this website means accepting these terms. The important one is the first, and it is the whole shape of what this site is.
We are a registry, not a seller.
American Beef Direct is a national membership organization and producer registry for American beef and meat producers. We are not a party to any transaction between a visitor and a producer. We do not sell, ship, store, handle or warrant any beef or any other product, we do not take beef orders, and we never process a payment for beef.
The one thing sold on this site is a producer membership, which a ranch buys from us. Any membership payment is handled on a secure page hosted by our payment processor, and card details are never seen or stored by American Beef Direct.
We make no representation and give no warranty about any producer's pricing, availability, shipping, product quality, food safety or fulfillment. Those are the producer's, and the producer's own website is the authority on all of them. Any dispute about an order is between you and the producer.
What verified means here.
Verified on this site means we confirmed, before listing, that an operation is an American family farm or ranch, that it raises the beef it sells, that it sells direct to consumers, that its processing is USDA inspected or state inspected, and that its own store is live.
Verification is our review of an operation. It is not a USDA certification, not an organic or grass fed certification, not an animal welfare certification, and not an inspection of the ranch. We do not visit, weigh, sample or audit any operation, and verification is not a guarantee of any producer's conduct or product.
Producer content.
Producer profiles on this site are published from each producer's own material, including their own published account of their operation, their logo and their photographs. That content remains the producer's. Every profile credits the source and links to the producer's own site.
A producer can have their listing corrected or removed on request, and we will act on such a request promptly. If you are a producer and something on your page is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed.
Accuracy, and change without notice.
What we do and do not guarantee about the information on this site.
- Producer information on this site was accurate when it was published and can change at any time without notice. Availability, pricing, shipping reach and product ranges change constantly on a working ranch.
- Distances shown on this site are straight line calculations from a state's geographic center or from your own browser's reported position to a ranch's town. They are a guide, not a route.
- Producer counts, state coverage and the state cap reflect the network as it stands and will change as producers are added.
- We correct errors when we learn of them. Telling us is the fastest way for that to happen.
Links off this site.
This site links to producers' own websites and stores, and to third party reference sources. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their practices, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific thing it is cited for. Once you follow a link you are on that site under its terms.
Producer listing terms.
A producer listing is subject to our review, to the registration requirements, and to the producer keeping its availability and shipping information current. A profile is built from the producer's own material and is approved by the producer before it goes live. We may decline a registration, and we may remove a listing that no longer meets the requirements, in which case we say why.
Terms specific to a paid membership, including the fee, the term, renewal, cancellation and refunds, are provided to the producer with their membership rather than published here. Membership prices are on the membership page.
General.
American Beef Direct is a division of Sovereign Agricultural Group, LLC. We may change these terms, and a change applies from the date it appears on this page. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Questions about these terms can go to the address on our contact page.
