Legal
Privacy policy.
This policy names what is actually installed on this website, rather than describing tracking in general. If something is not listed here, it is not running.
What we collect.
Two forms on this site collect information, and both only collect what you type into them.
- The contact form collects your name, your email address, the subject you select and your message. It does not ask for a phone number.
- The producer registration collects the details of your ranch, your name, email address and phone number, and everything else you enter on that form. We use it to confirm your operation and to build your profile.
We use what you send us to answer you, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anybody outside the handling described below, and we do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for.
The services this site uses.
Every third-party script actually installed here, and what each one does with your data.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which links they follow. It sets cookies in your browser and records events such as a page view, a form submission, a click on an outbound link to a rancher's store, opening a marker on the map and selecting a state. The most important thing we measure is the outbound click to a rancher, because it is the only conversion this site has.
The analytics tag runs only on the production domain. It does not run on preview deployments or on the vercel.app address this site is also served from.
The forms endpoint at forms.caltechweb.com
Both forms submit to a form handling service at forms.caltechweb.com, operated by CalTech Web, which emails the submission to us. Your submission passes through that service on the way to our inbox. It is rate limited by IP address to prevent abuse.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Both forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. Turnstile runs in your browser and reports a pass or fail to the forms service. It is used in place of a puzzle you have to solve.
Vercel
This website is hosted by Vercel, which handles the request when you load a page. Like any web host, it processes the technical details of that request in order to serve it.
That is the complete list. There is no chat widget, no booking widget, no advertising pixel, no retargeting tag and no third party map service on this site.
Your location, on Producers Near Me.
The Producers Near Me page can ask your browser for your location. If you allow it, your coordinates are used in your own browser to sort the list of producers by distance, and that is all. They are not sent to us, not sent to the forms service, not sent to Google Analytics, and not stored anywhere.
The only thing we record about it is whether you allowed or declined the request, as an analytics event with no coordinates attached. If you decline, the page gives you a state picker instead and nothing is lost.
Links to a rancher's own website.
Every Buy Direct and Visit Their Store link on this site takes you off American Beef Direct and onto that ranch's own website. Once you are there, you are on their site under their privacy policy and their terms, and we have no control over and no visibility into what happens next.
We never see your beef order, your payment details or your delivery address, because that transaction never passes through us. If you have a question about how a ranch handles your information, ask the ranch.
A producer buying a membership pays on a secure page hosted by our payment processor. Card details go to the processor and never to us: what comes back to American Beef Direct is the ranch name, the contact details on the enrollment, and confirmation that the membership was paid.
Your choices, and reaching us.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and you can decline the location request. Neither prevents you from using the registry: every producer is reachable from the registry listing, the state pages and the text list beside the map without any of it.
If you want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted, email us and we will do it.
American Beef Direct is a division of Sovereign Agricultural Group, LLC, administered from Sheridan, Wyoming. If we change this policy we will change this page, and the change applies from the date it appears here.
